Leading the pack with Hydrolux Deep Black!

Hydrolux, the groundbreaking waterborne basecoat system from ChemSpec, has added a brand new deep black basecoat toner (9905) to the compact range of toners. This extremely deep black toner has a strong blue undertone which gives it the “blacker than black look” that many new cars are coming out in. It can be used as a stand alone toner or can be mixed with other toners on the Hydrolux mixing bank.

Earlier this year ChemSpec launched a new Deep Black basecoat toner in the flagship automotive refinish range, Metalux 2. “This is a significant breakthrough for us as we are one of the only companies to release this deep jet shade black in waterborne basecoat,” says ChemSpec Technical Director, Ralton Bentley.

Several features set Hydrolux apart from the competition namely shelf-life, drying time, and temperature stability even in sub-zero temperatures. Hydrolux was specifically developed to address the latest environmental legislation, which has placed stringent limits on the emissions of volatile organic compounds (VOC’s) into the atmosphere; Hydrolux comfortably complies with all proposed standards, whilst still maintaining superior performance and durability.

Hydrolux toners are completely compatible with Metalux 2 and therefore provide the ideal technology for the bodyshop to evolve in line with environmental legislation, with the use of the system offering a staggering 80% reduction in VOC emissions.

The new Hydrolux Deep Black toner will be available by the end of November 2008. For more information about Hydrolux or Metalux 2, visit www.chemspecpaint.com.
