ChemSpec’s brand new automotive refinish training centre raises the bar
ChemSpec, the global paint company, has recently opened the doors of its magnificent Centre of Automotive Refinish Excellence (CARe) at their head office in Canelands, Durban.
“This is a truly world-class facility where we offer trainees a chance to use our products and to learn about the range in a safe and modern environment,” says ChemSpec Technical Director, Ralton Bentley.
The 326m2 facility was completed in four weeks by Zenith spraybooths and houses a special downdraft cabin using Rowit Venturi aftermarket air blowing systems to dry the new Hydrolux water-borne range.
The training centre also has a colour matching room where trainees are trained in colour matching, formula retrieval and paint mixing. “By demonstrating the inner-workings of our products, trainees witness first-hand the benefits and product savings they will achieve with our systems,” says Bentley.
The new facility has a state-of-the-art mixing room with the latest computer technology allowing four people to mix colours simultaneously.
“We have installed the Rupes Dust Free Extraction system to ensure a completely dust free preparation area,” says Bentley. Trainees will also be exposed to the latest SATA spraying equipment when training at the CARe facility.
COURSES ON OFFER ARE AS FOLLOWS:
Metalux 2 Start to Finish.
Metalux 2 Plastic Repairs, Colour Tinting, Spot Repairs and Health and Safety.
Hydrolux Start to Finish, Colour tinting and Spot Repairs.
Metalux CV Start to Finish, Colour Tinting, Spot Repairs and Health and Safety.
The CARe facility is already booked up for 40 special courses for the group's local and international car refinish users.
The sheer size of the training centre is what sets it apart from other automotive centres. “With the latest up to date technology installed and available we are able to give our customers the best possible training in everything applicable to the automotive industry,” says Bentley.
